Power Meter Rental
A lot of physiological training advice and training programs are based around using wattage output as a more accurate means to measure performance over time. Our athletes all tend to use power meters to monitor progress alongside physiological testing in the lab and a decent training programme they can be a great tool.
However decent power meter systems start at around £1000 and for a lot of people looking for the next step to help them improve their training and competition it can be a big investment. So as well as selling Powertap systems (available in training wheels as well as a variety of race wheels) and Quarq power meters, we now have three Powertap rental systems for customers to try on medium-long term basis to see the potential benefits of usign a power meter before investing.
Please email sales@athleteservice.com for more detailed information and availability but the basic costs are outlined below. We have tried to keep this as simple as possible!
Spec: All three wheel systems available are built with Mavic CXP22 rims or similar rims, 32 spoke version with the top of the range SL+ hub.
The SL+ systems are all ANT+ compatible so you can use a Garmin or other ANT+ cycling computer/heart rate monitor if you have one already. Otherwise we can provide the standard Powertap CPU and heart rate monitor or alternatively we have a Garmin 705 computer or the new Cyclops Joule 2.0 computer available to rent. We have freehubs for both Shimano and Campagnolo systems available (please specify, default is Shimano/SRAM).

Wheel Rental
Powertap SL+ Wheel Only - £60/month
CPU Rental
Powertap SL+ Standard CPU and heart rate belt plus USB download cradle - £10/month
Garmin 705 with heart rate belt (includes European Maps) - £15/month
Cyclops Joule 2.0 CPU with heart rate belt - £17.50/month
All include a pack including the PowerAgent software to download the workouts although we would recommend trying TrainingPeaks (free 1 month trial download available click here for details).
Deposit / Courier
We ask for a £150 deposit for the wheel (£50 for CPU) and £10 courier to deliver to your address (in the UK)
